For this project, my task was to create a subscription box with branded products inside that was to be only sold exclusively online. I was additionally provided with my target audience, young and expectant mothers.

After consideration and research, I decided to have my subscription box’s inspiration be focused on the mother and not the baby said mother is expecting. When women are pregnant and even after the baby is born, oftentimes all everyone is ever really mainly worried about is the new baby. Mothers often get forgotten about in the process of pregnancy by others and themselves. While mom is working so hard to take care of the baby, they often forget to keep themselves in good health. They often skip over self-care and even essential elements of taking care of their body, such as hydration, vitamins, snacking, and more. Sometimes, post-postpartum depression sets in and can have disastrous effects on the mother and her well-being. Hence, my subscription box is created with the goal to help mothers partake in self-care and to know that they are worthy of self-care, loved, beautiful, and appreciated.

The brand Valori was created and made the title of the subscription box. The brand name originates from the name Valorie, meaning “strong, healthy; brave, and courageous” in Latin. Valori’s calming design choices were made with mothers in mind, with the brand aiming to look relaxing and feminine.

From here, I created the actual subscription box, with its blue color and floral patterns. These motifs continued throughout the brand. I made a website for the box to be sold on, a social media page and various other touchpoints.

I created and branded many self-care products I thought might be great items for mothers to receive in their Valori box, such as lotion, body washes, and body butter to replenish their bodies. I also added tea for relaxation and chocolate for a much-needed yummy treat.
